All artwork sold here is guaranteed original. The exact date of publication is not always known to better than the month and year, although some have a publication day, month and year stamped by The Sun Newspaper on the rear. They all carry a series number above the top right panel. This allows the publication date to be interpolated quite accurately for unstamped specimens . They are nearly all Josep Gual strips which he achieves with black ink on stiff white card. They generally comprise either three or four storyline panels, although some exceptional ones are displayed in just one composite scene. They generally measure 22 x 6 inches. The majority are hand signed "Conrad & Gual" below the bottom right panel. "Conrad" is in fact the late Conrad Frost, who was the London based "Ideas" man behind the strip, and well known to afficiondos for his crossword puzzles and racey novels. It really is quite an achievement for him, and matched equally by that of a superb artist...to have come up with a fresh idea, practically everyday, for over twenty-five years! Many of the ideas he picked up at parties and barbecues at his riverside home near Thames Ditton. Sadly, he is no longer with us. His gentle humour and love of life is sorely missed.
